A 59-year-old man from the Blackpool area has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after his car collided with a horse box in Bilsborrow, say police.

Officers were called at around 4.30pm on March 28 following reports of an accident in St Michael’s Road.

A police spokesman said that a beige Skoda Octavia travelling towards St Michael’s village was involved in a collision with a green horsebox travelling in the opposite direction.

A passenger in the Skoda, a 18-year-old girl, suffered a minor shoulder injury in the incident.

While both vehicles stopped, neither motorist exchanged details.

The driver of the Skoda was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving.

Police are now appealing for the female driver of the horsebox to come forward to help them with their enquiries.

PC Martin Wilcock, of Lancashire Police, said: “We are appealing for information following a road traffic collision in Bilsborrow.

“A Skoda and horsebox collided in St Michael’s Road. While both drivers stopped, details were not exchanged.

“We are particularly keen to speak to the female driver of the horsebox vehicle. She is described as a woman in her late 30s, of slim build with shoulder length brown hair. If this was you, please contact police.”

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting log reference 0938 of March 28.
