This Red Nose Day, a high street favourite in Preston has received a spec-tacular makeover '“ in the form of giant waving glasses.

The iconic Specsavers logo in Preston has gone all googly-eyed with giant replicas of the fund-raising Red Nose Day glasses installed on its storefront.Human-sized Red Nose Day glasses – in adult and children’s sizes – are available in Specsavers stores nationwide and cost £2, with all money raised going to Comic Relief.From Sunday, 19 March, up until Comic Relief night on Friday, 24 March, the store will be hosting a variety of action-packed fund-raising events.Christopher Shore, retail store director at Specsavers in Preston, said: “Our giant Red Nose Day specs look brilliant - they have totally transformed our store and we’ve had a great reaction from passers-by.“We are encouraging everyone who buys a pair of the real Red Nose Day glasses to also join in on a giant Mexican wave on social media as well. Simply strike a pose with your specs and post with the #GiveUsAWave to receive your very own wave back.“From fancy dress in our silliest red costumes, to cooking up a tasty bake sale and a prize-packed tombola, we’re going all out to raise a laugh and money for Comic Relief this year. We’ve also got a few more entertaining surprises up our sleeves so do come and join us.’Specsavers in Preston has joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief by pledging to raise at least £250,000 this Red Nose Day to help change countless lives in the UK and across Africa.Specsavers has been a Red Nose Day partner since 2015.
