Thousands donated to Longridge foodbank charity
Grimsargh-based John Turner Construction and its inhouse charity group, TLC, donated £3,343 worth of provisions to The Trussell Trust, one of the UK’s leading charities fighting to stop UK hunger, following the success of its festive raffle.
The Trust is the overriding body of the Ribble Valley Foodbank in Longridge and Clitheroe, with collections on Fridays and Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays respectively.

A spokesman for John Turner Construction said: “With The Trussell Trust being inundated with donations during the festive period, we were asked to delay our offerings to a time when people who used the foodbanks were more in need.”
The Trussell Trust operates a network of foodbanks across the UK and gives emergency food and support to people in crisis, where thirteen million people live below the poverty line.
Sharon Stephenson, TLC group member, said: “The fund-raising for The Trussell Trust has been excellent.
