Jessica Carroll, 21, wants to open The Feature Length - a film-themed cafe and diner - in the city centre, and has launched a campaign to get it off the ground.

She is hoping to raise at least £20,000 to boost the venture, which is hoped to be in the Friargate area of Preston, and is aiming for it to be open as early as May if funding can be secured.

But Jessica, who lives in Ingol, has just over three weeks left of her Kickstarter campaign online, and so far has only raised £75 of the target.

She said: “I think my movie-themed coffee house and diner is something the people will really want.

“It will be family-friendly, peaceful, fun, and we will hold sporadic movie screenings. It will be a small, intimate community cinema, as well as a coffee house and eatery.

We will have a range of coffee and we will use only the best beans. And our produce will be fresh and of a very high quality, whilst being cheaper than typical gourmet, fresh food.”

Jessica said she was “passionate” about the project, and said: “I want to give people something a little different.”

She added: “I have always had a passion for the movie industry which is why I have chosen a movie-theme for my enterprise.

“This place will be my life. I will live, sleep and breathe the business, and offer up my services to a number of other businesses.
