This Stacey Solomon approved clothes steamer will make ironing a breeze - and it's now on sale (aff)

Ironing is one of those chores that you can’t avoid, but it’s so time-consuming and boring. Even the thought of getting the iron and ironing board out fills me with dread, let alone actually doing the job.

That’s why I invested in a clothes steamer - the Swan Handheld Garment Steamer to be precise. Steamers are designed to take all of the effort out of the ironing as they’re lightweight, smaller than an iron and don’t require an iron board, but they’re just as effective at removing wrinkles and creases from clothes.

I bought mine several years ago after being impressed by a garment steamer my twin brother had - but I admit I chose my model heavily based on the colour. Now, I didn’t choose to buy the Swan Handheld Garment Steamer purely on the basis of it’s colour. As much as I admittedly do want all the gadgets and tools I use in my home to look pretty the most important thing is the functionality. I was also encouraged to buy because it has a 4.2 out of 5 rating on Amazon. It has continued to be popular since I made my purchase too as more than 500 have been sold in the last month.

I haven’t got my iron out since I got this steamer because it is so effective at doing the job. What I love about it is it can be ready in minutes. All you have to do is fill the water tank, plug in, wait a few minutes and then it’s heated and ready to go. I hang clothes off the back of my bedroom door while I’m using it which works well.

It’s been a life-saver when I’ve pulled a top out of wardobe in a morning and found it’s a bit crumpled. Previously I would have had to choose a different outfit as I wouldn’t have had time to get the iron out before I had to be out of the door - but now Swan Handheld Garment Steamer sorts it out in minutes.

The one draw back I have found is that the wire isn’t very long, which means I have to be very close to a plug socket while I’m using it. Luckily, I do have a plug socket that is close to my bedroom door - but if I didn’t then I’d have to plug it in to an extension cable which isn’t too much of a big issue.

I have found also that it takes quite a while to get stubborn creases out while using the Swan Handheld Garment Steamer - but that’s also the same when I get the iron out for those really deepset creases.
