A wheelie bin sat beside a front door was deliberately set alight in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters were called to a flat in Dodgson Place, Preston, at around 2am, to put out the flames.

Two crews from Preston used a hosereel jet to tackle the fire, and police have now been called in to help investigate the suspected arson attack, a spokesman for the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) said.

Nobody was injured.
