Charley Naylor shared the ups and downs of planning a wedding with Lancashire Post readers through monthly reports in the lead up to her big day
And after all the hard work, her day was perfect as she tied the knot with Ruth Thomas in a bespoke ceremony at Farington Lodge.
The couple, who now live in Euxton, both work in the emergency services – Charley, 30, is an ambulance care assistant and Ruth, 36, is a paramedic.
Charley, from Penwortham, said: “It was the perfect day. Words and pictures can’t describe the feelings I experienced throughout the entire day.
“I am honestly, for a change, lost for words.
“I am the luckiest person in the world, I have a stunning wife, amazing friends and the best family a girl could ask for.”
Their festive wedding included a snowman and a Father Christmas with a twinkling dance floor and festive songs played on bagpipes.
And between them, Charley and Ruth had a total of 16 groomswomen and bridesmaids who Charley says were amazing.
Ruth said her favourite moment of the day was looking down the aisle to her future wife. She said: “The nerves had all of a sudden gone and I just got so excited
“The day from start to finish was the best day I could have ever wished for, it exceeded my expectations.
“The dance that Charley pulled off with all the wedding party had my sides hurting from laughing.
“I have never loved belonging to someone as much as I did that day and continue to do so. I cant be more grateful to my wife, my family and my friends. “
And Charley added: “I think it is safe to say, with all the thanks we needed to make, that we had an eventful day from start to finish.
“We definitely know how to throw one heck of a party. From rainbow layered cakes, to mob dances, speeches, bag pipes, camper vans, Christmas dinner and crackers. We had it all.
“There could be nothing better than Ruth and Charley Naylor-Thomas Christmas wedding.
“It’s important to thank all the staff at Farington Lodge, especially our wedding planner Jennifer.
“We were made very welcome, and supported throughout the entire journey.
“We both would like to make a point to thank our parents, we couldn’t have done any of this without them. We are extremely grateful and love them very much.”
