PCSO beats McGravy to the World Gravy Wrestling title
PCSO Trevor Sterling – aka Maximus Gravius Onmyroasticus – entered the World Gravy Wrestling Championships at the weekend, and emerged victorious.
The 42-year-old, who covers Lytham, St Annes, and Kirkham, said: “I’m finally world champion at something!”

And he made light work of Connor McGravy to be named World Gravy Wrestling Champion after wowing judges with his energetic display and showmanship.
“All in all, it was really bizarre but ultimately good fun,” Trevor said yesterday.
“There was around 100 spectators and families on the day enjoying it all.

“This was my third year and it’s growing every single year. We are getting competitors all the way from America.”
Trevor dressed as Russell Crowe’s Maximus from the 2000 Ridley Scott film Gladiator, and had gravy poured over his head as he was named winner.
But he said: “It’s not something I would like to have on my Sunday roast!
“It was not the best gravy in the world!”
