No frills but fine food from tidy little takeaway
With weary legs and cold hands after an afternoon of Christmas markets, Sunday night seemed perfect timing for a takeaway.
Silver Moon has a no-frills appearance but the food hygiene certificate in the window proudly announces a five star top rating which was good enough to get us through the door! The menu is extensive with Thai and Japanese as well as Chinese. Our food was good to go in under 15 minutes.

My chicken with cashew nuts (£4.50) was also enjoyable, with water chestnuts, sweetcorn and tons of nuts, though I’d have liked a little more spice in the sauce.
My dining partner loved the sweet and sour chicken balls (£4.50) which were made by special request. They were filled with chicken and weren’t too heavy on the batter. Add two egg-fried rice and the bill came to £18.10. A no-nonsense little spot which did the job nicely.
