More than 1,000 runners took part in the first ever Chorley 10k race, organised by Chorley Council.

Simon Croft of the Red Rose Road Runners won the race with a time of 34 minutes and 38 seconds, followed by Gareth Booth (Horwich RMI Harriers) in 34 minutes and 53 seconds and Paul Bradshaw (Blackburn Harriers) in 37 minutes and 38 seconds.
