Woman sexually assaulted in toilets of Darwen pub on New Year's Day

Police want to speak to a man in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Darwen.

An 18-year-old woman was in the women’s toilets at Level One Live nightclub in The Green at around 3am on January 1.

A man entered the toilets and approached the victim from behind, before grabbing and sexually assaulting her.

The woman fought the man off and left the toilets, later reporting the incident to police.

Following extensive enquiries, police have released images of a man they would like to identify in connection with the investigation.

Det Con Mark Parrington, of Blackburn Police, said: “We are keen to speak to this man and hope someone recognises him.

“I would encourage anyone with information to come forward immediately.”
