Avenham Park is set to feature in a new BBC health show with television presenter Angela Rippon pictured earlier this week.
The newsreader and writer was filming her new show ‘Truth or Scare’ at the picturesque location and even took time out to chat to staff.
Film crews spent several hours at the park last Saturday, Sunday and Monday and park manager Fiona Porter said they were a delight to have in the city.
“Angela was absolutely lovely,” the 51-year-old from Penwortham said. “They were all very busy so I tried to stay out of the way but she still came over and had a chat.
“She was chatting to everyone when she wasn’t working and even had a selfie with a young lad riding around on his bike.”
In a release sent to Fiona before the filming, the show says it will look at the truth behind the headlines.
It gives examples such as ‘should you get eight hours of sleep a night or not?’ And ‘are you getting enough sunshine?’
The show will be presented by Angela Rippon and Kevin Duala.
Fiona said: “Most of their filming was in the pavilion but they also went into the cafe and the Japanese garden.
“It was actually sunny on Monday too so they looked like they filmed some nice shots.
“Everyone in the crew was very pleasant and it was really good to have them here.”
The programme will be aired Monday to Friday 9.15am from April 24 for one week on BBC One after BBC Breakfast.
