It means the build will come to three hectares of agricultural land off Tabley Lane.

The development was previously blocked in 2017 over concerns about highways.

Planning documents from the recent application, which had been recommended for approval by officers, state: “The application seeks to create a new vehicular access point on the eastern side of Tabley Lane immediately north of Bridge House, with the single access road serving the new dwellings constructed within a series of cul-de-sacs.

“The application is accompanied by a site plan which shows an example layout of development and which includes: areas of public open space, new planting and landscaping proposals including planted buffers, and potential pedestrian connections within the site to adjoining land.”

Members of Preston City Council gave the build, which includes provision of 17 affordable homes, the green light at a meeting on Thursday.
