Man charged after 92-year-old attacked and robbed

A man has been charged by police after a 92-year-old was attacked and robbed at his home in Preston.

Around 1.30pm on Saturday a man approached an address in Lytham Road demanding money for work done to the property.

After the homeowner, a 92-year-old man, refused, he was attacked and robbed.

The victim was left with a serious injury to his right arm, as well as swelling to his right hand.

Following extensive inquiries, police have today (February 13) charged Andrew Young, 44, of Aqueduct Road, Blackburn, with burglary in a dwelling with violence.

He has been remanded to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
