A major road was partially blocked following two-car smash during this morning's rush hour, say fire services.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident on Preston New Road at around 7am following the collision between a Volkswagen Golf and a Kia Sedona.
One lane was closed while fire crews made the scene safe after one of the drivers spotted an engine smoking.
Firefighters disconnected the battery of the Volkswagen Golf and doused it with water.
The Volkswagen is due to be recovered shortly, say police.
The road is believed to have since been cleared.
Nobody is thought to have been injured in the incident.
