An appeal had been issued after Oisin Mongan, 10, was last seen in Parker Street, Ashton, around 5pm on Thursday.
Posting on Facebook on Friday, Preston Police said: "The missing 10 year old boy from Preston has been seen by police and is safe and well.
"Thanks for your shares."
