Fundraisers hoped to the strike it lucky with a charity Bowlathon.
MFA Bowl helped host the evening in partnership with Preston based charity Deafway, raising nearly £300.
The charity bowling event was a first for the charity, who specialise in support services for deaf adults in residential care in Preston.
A number of people turned out to play in the 10-pin bowl competition on Tuesday night and organisers said the players all enjoyed a ‘brilliant evening.’
Christina Eley, from Deafway, who helped put on the event, said: “It was a fantastic night, made even better by our staff who volunteered to put together some competitive teams and by all the children who took part making a great atmosphere!”
There were eight teams in the competition with prizes awarded for best individual adult and child player as well as the best team.
All the proceeds from the event will go towards helping Deafway to deliver residential care to Deaf people,Christina added: “We aim to build our residents’ confidence and ultimately give them as much independence as possible.
“All the proceeds from the Bowlathon will help us to deliver the best possible care.”
