A WOMAN assaulted two police officers as they tried to arrest her for a breach of the peace, a court has heard.

Rio Brennan, 21, of Victoria Street, Preston, had “resisted violently by thrashing her body around and kicking out with her legs” when she was asked to leave a property on June 26.

She admitted assaulting a PC, resisting a PC and breaching the peace before Preston Magistrates’ Court.

She was bound over for six months.

PRESTON: A man has been found guilty of dishonestly receiving a stolen postbox after a trial.

Carl Atkinson, 20, of Leesands Close, Fulwood, Preston, was found guilty of failing to stop a car for a PC and driving without insurance or a licence.

He was banned for six months, given a curfew, and must pay £100 compensation.

Chorley: A motorist has been found guilty of driving without due care and attention.

Robert Kirby, 53, of Westhoughton Road, Adlington, Chorley, was spotted on Market Place, Adlington.

He was fined £360 and ordered to pay a £36 victim surcharge and £620 prosecution costs.

CHORLEY: A driver who failed to stop after an accident on Eaves Lane, Chorley, is to be sentenced before magistrates on August 5.

Clifford Tranter, 36, of Northgate Drive, Chorley, was found guilty after a trial.

PRESTON: Amanda Goodwin, 26, of Curwen Street, Preston, has been jailed for 16 weeks after admitting assaulting a man and woman when she was caught stealing at Wilkinsons in Preston.

She was told the offence was serious because of “a deliberate attack on a public servant carrying out public duties” and must pay a £115 surcharge.

PRESTON: Michael Dawson, 18, of Dawson Walk, Preston, admits a charge of assaulting a man in the city and was ordered to pay his victim £100 in compensation.

The bench at Preston Magistrates’ Court ruled Dawson must do 100 hours of unpaid work and also imposed a rehabilitation activity requirement.

PRESTON: Jason Sutton, 23, of Northcliff Street, Preston, was given a rehabilitation activity after admitting assaulting a woman and must pay an £80 fine, £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Jamie Sunderland, 32, of Great Park Drive, Leyland, admits using a phone while driving and must pay a £60 fine, £20 surcharge and £20 costs.

Mikhael Owen, 22, of Robin Hey, Leyland, admits driving without a licence or insurance and must pay a £120 fine, £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Oliver Brown, 18, of Westwood Road, Leyland, admits driving without a licence, or insurance and must pay a £120 fine, £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Michaela Halley, 27, of Robin Street, Preston, was found guilty of dishonestly receiving a stolen laptop worth £299 and must pay a £120 fine, £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Stati Mirchev, 48, of Ellenborough Road, Dartford, Kent, was given a curfew after admitting assaulting a woman in Preston and must pay an £85 surcharge and £85 costs.

Cheryl Makinson, 32, of Kent Street, Preston, admits being drunk and disorderly and damaging two windows and was ordered to pay £60 compensation, a £40 fine and a £20 surcharge.

Robert Snow, 25, of Henderson Street, Preston, was jailed for two weeks after admitting stealing Star Wars DVD box sets and speakers within a day of his prison release.

Angela Jane Prescott, 37, of John Street, Coppull, was given 12 weeks in jail, suspended for a year, and a curfew after admitting twice stealing meat from Asda.

Tracy Parkinson, 43, of John Street, Coppull, was given 12 weeks in jail, suspended for a year, and a curfew, after admitting stealing meat from Asda.

Lucasz Pawlowicz, 30, of Great Clowes Street, Salford, was discharged for 12 months after admitting stealing coffee and air fresheners in Preston, but must pay a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.
