A postman from Preston has proved such a hit he has returned to TV screens in a new advertising campaign.

Ahmed Piperdi, who is based at Royal Mail’s office in Preston, was be beamed into millions of homes when the We Love Parcels ad was screened during England’s World Cup warm-up against Denmark on ITV1 last night.

It is the second advertising campaign the postie, from Fulwood, has appeared in for the company.

The father-of-four, who has been working for the Royal Mail for 13 years, said: “I was so proud to have been given the opportunity to take part in it and showcase the role I play in the company. The reaction from my friends and family has been amazing.”

The 40 second advert is promoting Royal Mail’s trust amongst consumers as the parcel delivery partner for online retailers.

In the commercial, Ahmed can be seen smiling broadly as he does the thing he loves the most – delivering parcels to his loyal regulars.

The advert, which follows a consumer TV campaign last autumn.

The advert is accompanied by a special version of the iconic Beatles song, All You Need is Love. It was sung by the official Royal Mail choir and recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios; 46 years after The Beatles recorded the original version at the very same address.
