A talented seven-year-old has become a star overnight after featuring in a festive television advert.
Preston’s Alyssia Rothwell has been recognised across the city after she starred in this year’s Toys R Us Christmas advertisements.
And the Fulwood youngster is now turning her attention to singing - and is determined to play at Wembley.
Alyssia said: “It’s quite good because people come up to me and say I’ve seen you on television and I get really excited.
“I feel like a star.
“Now I’m thinking of moving into singing because I love singing.”
Alyssia sang at her school’s talent show, and said she now hoped to get better and better.
She said: “My mum is a singer because she used to sing in lots of hotels.
“I want to do that because I love it and my heart is into it even more than the acting.”
The Our Lady and St Edward’s pupil said her new favourite singer was Sam Bailey, after she won the latest X Factor competition.
She said: “I’ve been on adverts straight after the X Factor.
“It feels really scary because when people shout my name I feel really nervous.”
Alyssia now dreams of becoming a professional singer, and one day singing at Wembley.
Alyssia’s proud mum Karen, 38, said people had recognised her daughter following the television appearances.
She said: “I think it has given her a good platform because her confidence is massive, and I think it is because she has done things from an early age in front of a lot of people.
“And I think, because her dad is a children’s entertainer on the piers in Blackpool in the summer, she has always sung and danced on stage.
“It has just been really natural for her and normal being on stage, so I can see her really going for it.
“The way she goes around the house and sings and everything, it’s in her blood, it’s in her heart.”
Dad Alan, 35, added: “She feels like she’s famous - but it’s not gone to her head at all.”
