Health Kicks Kitchen has opened its doors at Lane Ends in Ashton, offering “guilt-free” meals to eat in or take away.
Since opening on Saturday in a former hairdressers in Blackpool Road, owners say it has already drawn in the crowds.
Lloyd Everett, who started up the venture with business partner Phil Smith, said: “We are offering a guilt-free menu that’s all calorie counted and cost-effective.
“We want people to be able to come here every day - the average price is about £4 or £5, and the food is cooked fresh.
“My background is in personal training, so I know all about nutrition.
“I was constantly coming to Preston and getting sick of having something quick like bread - it’s no good for you.
“I wanted to have a place where you can sit in and have a nice atmosphere.”
Lloyd, 26, said: “We’ve got a big menu on the wall, you order your food and you can take it away or sit in.”
He said customers could choose the elements of their meal - side dishes, a protein, carbohydrates and vegetables - which were then created into a box.
He added: “Then we’ve got a full main menu as well with wraps, salad boxes and burgers.
“And then we are doing healthy lifestyle shakes.
“I was a personal trainer for five years, and I wanted to get into something I was passionate about, which is nutrition and food.
“Health Kicks Kitchen is at Lane Ends, so it’s busy and it doesn’t really quieten down.”
