Knitted Bible Stories Exhibition

It is sometimes said that knitting is like writing a story. People who visit Penwortham Methodist Church’s Knitted Bible Stories Exhibition will be treated to not just one story – but many.

On show every day until Saturday are scenes from popular Bible stories, all hand knitted in enchanting detail.

Starting with the story of the Creation and Adam and Eve in the Garden visitors will be able to walk round the lovely old church at Penwortham and see thirty three scenes from well-known Bible stories.

Open daily 10am-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday, refresh-ments are available and all are welcome.

The Lot of A Woman in a Man's World

Hear how a number of Preston women overcame adversity and succeeded in a man’s world with this guided walk and talk, 2.30pm around Winckley Square. Book via www.eventbrite.co.uk, £4.

Preston Society: Birdwatching & Natural History

Preston Society, Birdwatching and Natural History meets every Monday, 7.30pm at St Mary’s Church, Penwortham. Tonight’s subject is ‘Iceland - The Full Circle’ by Christine and Keith Buxton. £3 on the door, all welcome. Call 07713 975321.

Goosnargh/Whittingham over 60’s Club

The next meeting of the Goosnargh/Whittingham over 60’s Club takes place at 1pm today in the Village Hall. They will start with a light lunch followed by the Club’s AGM then a games afternoon. New members very welcome, just turn up!
