Karen Boyes and her daughters Sarah and Keira will cycle the length of the Guild Wheel on Bank Holiday Monday.

The ride, which 50 cyclists have already signed up to, will raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice, which cared for Mrs Boyes’ husband Stephen, who died from a brain tumour in 2014.

And Mrs Boyes says that anyone is welcome to join the ride.

She said: “We’re meeting at Avenham cafe 9.45am on Monday, May 1, with a view to setting off at 10am heading towards Brockholes.

“First stop and regroup at Starbucks on Bluebell Way, who are supporting our cause and offering 10 per cent discount to cyclists. Our second stop and regroup is at the Ancient Oak then finishing back at Avenham cafe.

“If anyone would like to join us that would be fab and although probably late to find sponsorship they might like to make a donation on the day.”
