Preston’s Continental hosts a night of prize winning poetry at the Continental tomorrow night.

The event, organised by Riverside Poetry and Martin Domleo, includes Judy Brown, who was Poet in Residence at the Wordsworth Trust last year.

Her first book, Loudness, was shortlisted for the 2011 Forward and 2012 Fenton Aldeburgh prizes for best first collection.

She has also won the Manchester Poetry Prize, the Poetry London Competition and the Poetry Society’s Hamish Canham Prize.

Also on the bill is Kim Moore who has a new collection of poems being published by Seren next year.

Her poetry pamphlet, If We Could Speak Like Wolves, was chosen as an Independent Book of the Year in 2012.

She performs her poems all over the country and runs poetry workshops for many organisations.

The line-up is completed with invited local poets and presented by Terry Quinn who this year was among the winners of the BBC Proms Poetry Competition

Admission costs £4 on the door, the evening begins at 7.30pm.
