The former star of Steeleye Span and The Albion Band is returning to his roots to launch his new album, Historic Events and Other Subjects.
Preston’s Ken Nicol, who played with Steeleye from 2002 to 2008, is to play a special show at Preston Playhouse on Friday - where he last performed more than 40 years ago in 1970.
It’s a trip down Memory Lane for the Ingol musician as last time he was there was before his success and he was playing a charity show for the East Pakistan Relief Fund with a friend, Barry Hunter.
His mother kept a cutting of the review in the Evening Post and has treasured it in her scrapbook all these years.
Now, after more than four decades, he is returning on Friday night to preview tracks from his ninth record, which include a song written for Steeleye. Ken said: “I always said they’d book me back!”
Tickets are available on 07837 367560 or online at www.fofshop.com.
