Top acts have been lined up to perform at a special concert at this year’s Armed Forces Day.
The names have been announced to perform in Tribute to Heroes at the Guild Hall on July 11, to raise cash for Our Local Heroes Foundation.
And organisers are billing the show as “the best concert Preston has had in years”.
Headlining the show will be Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro, and also Jai McDowall as the main support.
Other acts include Charlotte Jaconelli, Bailey McConnell, Hannah Joy, Preston soprano Louisa Stirland, and also Preston Concert Band.
The event will take place in the evening of Armed Forces Day.
Coun Drew Gale, the city’s armed forces champion, said: “We are going to have a spectacular day which this is part of.
“It is going to be amazing, I think it is going to be the biggest concert in Preston given the star names we’ve attracted.
“We’ve got two Britain’s Got Talent winners, it’s just going to be amazing.
“It’s not just going to be a one-off, it’s going to be a regular occurrence for the people of Preston.”
Tickets will go on sale on May 22 at the Guild Hall box office at a cost of £25.
Coun Gale said: “It is going to have a high-end feel, but fun.
“We are looking at a three-and-a-half hour show.
“It is going to be an amazing night that will hopefully raise thousands for a fantastic armed forces charity.
“Armed Forces Day is the whole day and the concert will be the grand finale.”
About 800 tickets will be available for the show, to be held in the Charter Theatre, and Coun Gale said: “We would advise people to buy early because we expect them to sell quite quickly.”
