George gives classic tune some Stick.
The talented young maestro of an unusual instrument brings us a Song For Christmas today which you can hear online at www.lep.co.uk.
Music student George Price gives us Deck The Halls on the Chapman Stick, an instrument he only picked up a year ago.
The 19-year-old bassist from Hoghton, near Preston, studies at the Tech Music School in Fulham.
George has been busking in Fishergate recently to help fund his education, and has wowed visitors in the city and beyond with his music.
He says he was drawn to the “weird” instrument because of its versatility and range, and is now using it to pay for food, rent, and also trips to gigs.
“It’s a strange instrument, it provides so much imagination”, said George..
The former Preston’s College student said: “I listen to a lot of drum and bass and ambient music, and have started creating music you could lie back to and go driving to, or put on on a summer’s day and chill out to.
