A 150-year-old band needs more people to join the cause.
The Balderstone Brass Band have reached crisis point and need more gifted musicians.
The band have hit their lowest in years with only nine current members.
And club secretary John A Bromley has appealed for players to join the band.
He said: “We have been really low on musicians in recent years, but we have hit a real low.
“We have nine talented musicians but we need more.
“This band has been performing for the last 150 years, it is an essential part of our community.
“But we just need more people of any age to join us and save our band.
“If more people don’t get involved we may have to pack in.
“Which is unthinkable as we have been going for so long.”
The band practice in Mellor Village Hall on Monday night from 7pm onwards.
