They will arrive in the city after also playing gigs in Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds and Liverpool over four previous days.

Ben Sebborn, co-founder and director of Skiddle, said: “We are delighted to launch this partnership with Big Issue North and are incredibly excited that The Big Busk will be ending this tour of northern cities in our hometown of Preston.

“As a local organisation, it is important for us to use the tools at our disposal to offer affordable, vibrant entertainment and we sincerely hope everyone jumps on board and gets involved in what promises to be a fantastic day of fundraising for a brilliant local cause.”

The Big Busk is a non-ticketed event running between 2pm and 7pm.

There will be a ‘pay-what-you-feel’ approach taken, with the audience encouraged to donate to Big Issue North Trust, either through cash, card or text payments on the day.

There will also be Big Issue North and Street Noise merchandise for sale, and a raffle of great music prizes – including signed merchandise and guest list places for The Courteeners.
