Kicking off the three-day G-Festival on Friday evening is indie-rock solo artist Millicent Weaver, as seen on prime time ITV show The Voice UK earlier this year.

Four-piece band The Frequency, featuring BBC Radio Lancashire’s Paul O’Gorman will take to the stage on Saturday and Manchester-based alternative synth-pop act Bauer will be performing on Sunday.

Sunday will also feature family activities from 2pm including crazy golf and a bouncy castle.

An array of Lancashire’s finest real ales will be on tap at the festival while ciders and continental lagers will also be served.

Organised by Gregson Lane Community Centre and led by a team of volunteers, the event aims to raise funds for a new space as well as to pay for the upkeep and maintenance of the surrounding grounds. The playing fields are used by various local cricket and football teams. Entry to the festival is £5 per day or £12 for a weekend ticket. Children under 3 years are free. Food and refreshments will be available throughout.
