Invitation to explore and draw the history in city's Georgian heart

Over the last year The Friends of Winckley Square have been running regular Guided Walks in Preston's Georgian pride.

This year for the first time they are offering Guided Walks which focus on extraordinary Women of Winckley Square, which compliment their Former Residents walks.

The walks can be adapted for wheelchair users. The free tours (donations welcome) will be led by one of the Friends of Winckley Square Gardens, explaining all about the local heritage and each tour lasts around an hour and 15 minutes.

The aim is to have fun and develop your drawing skills with Pat Southern-Pearce and Ribble Urban Sketchers

On the Saturday, the workshop will be looking at before and after photos of Winckley Square past and present… catching the essence of buildings and characters, exploring colour, dark and light sketching techniques. It runs from 10-1pm and 2pm until 4pm. It’s free and open to anyone interested in developing their drawing skills. The morning venue is Peoples Production Lab, 55 Guild Hall Street, Preston PR1 3NU

On the Sunday, 10-1pm and 2pm-4pm, there’s a family day of sketching in the Square with three 45-minute mini fun drawing sessions for everyone to join, working together we will be creating a large colourful artwork. Suitable for grandparents, parents and children of all ages.

All children should be accompanied by an adult. The Mini drawing sessions are from 11.00 - 11.45am; 12.00 – 12.45pmand 2pm- 2.45pm
