Historians and cinema enthusiasts alike should make a date in their diaries for a talk on The Films of Will Onda at the upcoming Annual General Meeting of Preston Historical Society.

Emma Heslewood will talk about pioneering cameraman Onda and his film collection and present several clips of his films at the Minster, beginning from approximately 7.30pm on May 12, at the meeting’s end.

Emma said: “The talk will include a brief introduction on Will Onda’s background and career on the stage.

“Then I will present how he got interested in films, the extent of Will Onda’s work as filmmaker and, most importantly, what has survived.”
