Evanfest was first held in 2013 to honour the final wishes of Evan Page, who had bipolar disorder and died in 2012 aged 39, making this year’s event the sixth instalment.

Before his death, Evan had asked close friend Kate Jones to stage a gig to raise awareness of bipolar, and in the years since Kate has done her pal proud with building the event each year. She said: “It will once again be held at the Ships and Giggles on Fylde Road with 40 of the best local musical talent across 12 hours. Children are welcome up until 8pm.”

Evanfest starts from midday on Saturday, May 5 with free entry. All proceeds will go to the Bipolar UK charity organisation.
