This consistently under rated yet influential band of the 60s - arguably one of the first British punk bands - is best remembered for making our hearts sing with Wild Thing but it’s just one of many UK hits such as With A Girl Like You, I Can’t Control Myself, Anyway That You Want Me and Give It To Me .

And how many remember that The Troggs gave us Love Is All Around - even if it was down to Marti Pellow and Wet, Wet, Wet to cover it with such phenomenal success worldwide?

The late Reg Presley (singers had first names like Reg back in the’60s...) was said to have written the song in 10 minutes, inspired by a Sally Army band he’d seen on telly. It’s been seldom off the telly since - aired every Christmas with Love. Actually and Bill Nighy’s joyously awful version Christmas Is All Around.

If you want to catch the originals in action the band features founder member and guitarist Chris Britton and bassist Peter Lucas (who joined the band in 1974) and drummer Dave Maggs (with The Troggs 25 years). Another 60s veteran Chris Allen joins on vocals.
