Singers line up for Music Day

Radio hosts, choirs and singers will take celebrate BBC Music Day at county castles, bridges and libraries.

Various BBC Radio Lancashire presenters and some choir members will be performing on a selection of the county’s most iconic bridges ahead of the celebration of UK music on June 3.

The Song Rooms Choir, accompanied by guitarist Jamie Brewer, will perform the the 59th St Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy), live on a narrowboat on the Lune Aqueduct.

Get It Loud In Libraries is also staging a show at Lancaster Library with rapper and BBC Music Day Ambassador, Lady Leshurr, while the city’s castle will host a jazz and folk session in the courtyard.

In Blackburn, BBC Radio Lancashire will broadcast live all morning from 9.30am from their Radio Theatre, with performances from the A Capella Singers, Rag Tag Misfits, singer-songwriter Chris Bannister, Tim Chu & Ian Bailey, John Harper, the Houghton Weavers, Grace Davies and the 2nd Rossendale Scout Group Band.
