A monster of a new attraction is coming to Preston

Frankenstein, a new immersive show for libraries, is coming to Preston.

Theatre company Pure Expression is to present an immersive theatrical adaptation of Mary Shelley’s iconic novel.

The audience wear headphones and hear the voices of the story’s haunting characters while they explore the library’s hidden corners.

A spokesman for the company said: “Visitors venture from room to room and from memory to memory following the ghost of Victor Frankenstein.

“With a soundscape created by award-winning musician Taz Modi, the show is an intimate, haunting journey through a character’s mind.”

It will visit the Harris Museum on Wednesday March 21, with one show at 5.30pm and the next at 7pm.

The production will tour across the UK throughout 2018 to celebrate Frankenstein’s 200th anniversary.

The performer is Toby Osmond accompannied by voice actors Louise Barrett, Zach Corrigan, and Paul McLaughlin.

The production is open to over 12s only.

This production includes a large amount of walking up and down stairs.

As a result, the theatre company says the show is not accessible to wheelchair users.

Pure Expression is an immersive theatre company that reimagines classic stories inunique environments.

It works particularly in libraries, museums and galleries and aims to create projects that are “inspiring, accessible and fun for a range of audiences.”
