Game review: SpongeBob Squarepants: Planktons Robotic Revenge
SpongeBob Squarepants: Planktons Robotic Revenge developed by Behaviour Interactive and Published by Activision places players in control of SpongeBob, Sandy, Patrick or Squidward or 2 to 4 players co-operatively in an action/puzzler that focuses more on its combat. It captures the shows wit and charm fantastically but is bogged down by some badly designed pre-level conversations. The story cut scenes however are great to watch.
Players traverse bland, plain lazy designed levels using melee or ranged combat to defeat Planktons robotic minions using wacky weapons such as the Pickle Blaster and collect the bits they leave behind. These bits upgrade gadgets to increase stats like damage to help you on your way. Boss battles are another let down to this game due to repetition and once you figure out how to defeat them, it’s only a matter of time before you win but you have to go through a long boring cycle first.

Hide AdLooks wise, Planktons Robotic Revenge’s lack of any textures means that the characters and levels look lifeless. Facial expressions and the visual comedy that the show is known for is not present here due to the lacking visuals.
Summary
SpongeBob’s latest escapade isn’t a great one unfortunately unless you’re under the age of 5 otherwise it’s a repetitive, tedious, action romp that doesn’t look great at all. Co-op provides a degree of fun but only for a short period.
