Breakin' @The Grand and all over

Well, this was a first. I've always drawn the line at break dancing but the Breakin' Convention has won excellent reviews.

No wonder given the talent on show from places such as France, Spain and Holland - and with Jonzi D, mastermind of the hip hop revolution in the UK behind it all. Two local dance acts too.

The Grand deserves 10/10 for its pursuit of variety. Breakin’ is a worldwide phenomenon and I was happy to be educated by an organisation with a Sadlers Well link.

And what a fantastic reception from the audience - and a great cross section of ages from school age to 50 plus (and me). Audience participation was encouraged from the off but to be fair not much encouragement was needed.

The UK acts were full of guile and enthusiasm and the second half of the show was mesmerising with experienced campaigners from the continent.

The skill and gymnastic prowess of these acts will remain unforgettable and I would certainly recommend this show. I fully expect to see break dancing catching on all over the Fylde - although it seems it already has...
