Now he’s hoping to expand his business, The Cunning Craftsman, even further, kick-starting drawing workshops in the city.

“These workshops are participants’ time to draw,” said Chris. “From beginner to pro, we all need the space, time and confidence to learn new skills, people can focus for a while and give themselves the chance to be inspired.

“This is the workshop that covers all that.

“I will help people to advance their confidence in drawing and share the knowledge I have learned over the years.”

Budding artists of those who want to improve are encouraged to bring a project and idea or just an open mind to the workshops.

Chris promises “a fun few hours of learning, sketching and laughing”.

He added: “It’s also a great chance to talk about art and illustration in higher education and the creative industries if people are thinking about their next move.”

The first Preston Drawing Workshop takes place at The Artistry House in Winckley Square on Wednesday, March 4 at 4pm-7pm.

Follow up workshops will run on March 14, and at Society1 on April 1 and 18.

Sessions could involve quick draw sessions, life drawing, portraiture, technical drawing, character illustration and other drawing techniques. Each workshop costs £25. All materials are included. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
