The 12-hour S2S event will take over part of Moor Park from 11am to 11pm on Saturday July 28. Organisers are promising the festival will be their biggest and best yet after a number of successes around the North West.

Joe Wilson, co-director with Lee Drake of Manchester-based S2S Events, said: “We’ve never done an outdoor event before. We’ve done smaller things in Blackpool, Chorley and last Halloween at Preston Guild Hall. We’re now looking to grow it to bring something new, fresh and exciting to the city.”

The S2S Festival will have a huge outdoor stage, alongside big top tents, marquees, a rave igloo and a cocktail area.

More than 100 artists will be playing house, club classics, old skool and dance. And in addition to the music there will be an “extreme fairground” on site for a fun-packed day in the park. Big name DJs MistaJam and Danny Howard have been confirmed. Oganisers believe as many as 7,500 people will turn up to party. Last Halloween’s event at the Guild Hall was a sell-out many weeks in advance.

Joe, 33, said: “We now feel there’s scope to expand on this success. An outdoor festival has been in our eyeline for around five years now but we never sat down and put pen to paper. In Preston and Moor Park we found a situation where we could put our ideas into place. The city is missing this kind of event.”
