Three Lancaster churches within three mile radius broken into overnight

Three churches in Lancaster and the nearby village of Halton have been broken into within a similar time-frame this week.

Police are investigating three break-ins - one which left a kitchen flooded and community food parcels trashed - and another where Church collection envelopes were taken.

All of the burglaries were reported to Lancaster Police on February 3.

Father's House Elim Church in Owen Road, Skerton, was broken into overnight on February 2.

Damage was caused to the building, including flooding in the kitchen after taps were deliberately left running, food pulled from the fridge which has had to be thrown away, and an electric hob left switched on.

Read the full story HERE.Less than three miles down the road in Halton, St Wilfrid's Church reported a break in which police say happened at some point between 9.30am on February 2 and 10.52am on February 3.

Church collection envelopes were taken, which contained a quantity of cash.

Halton's United Reformed Church in High Road was also broken into sometime between 4pm on February 1 and 2.19pm on February 3.

Police said it looked like every room was searched but it was unclear if anything was taken.

It is thought - although not confirmed - that all three churches were broken into overnight on Tuesday February 2.
