Starter homes scheme is given green light

The first ‘Starter Homes Initiative’ residential development in South Ribble has been given the green light, following planning submission by housing and regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships.

The 61-home scheme will provide quality homes for those stepping onto the property ladder for the first time, as well as for existing homeowners. Galliford Try Partnerships will transform a derelict site off Hill Road South, Penwortham.

Fifty per cent of the new homes built will be available for open market sale under Galliford Try Partnership’s award-winning Linden Homes brand, and will include a mix of three and four-bedroom semi and detached family homes.

Sian Pitt, Head of Sales at Galliford Try Partnerships, said: “We’re delighted that approval has been granted for The Maltings and we look forward to continuing our work with South Ribble Council to bring the town’s first starter home development to life.

“The development’s proximity to Preston town centre will make these new homes an attractive offering.”
