Chorley squash star Laura Massaro has been seeded five for the PSA Women’s World Championship at the Egyptian Red Sea Resort of El Gouna next month.
The 33-year-old former world No.1 has been recovering from a elbow injury over the past week, but is now on the mend.
She will be hoping to go one better than last year at the World Championships when she was beaten by Nour El Sherbini in the final despite leading 2-0.
Massaro, who became world champion in 2013, will take on Eygptian Mariam Metwally in the first round round while current world No.1 Sherbini will face a qualifier.
Nicol Davidwill be bidding for a record ninth World title and begind her quest against Dipika Pallikal Karthik of India.
