The Preston and District Veterans’ Snooker League brought their season to a close at Ashton Bowling Club where they staged the final of their major cup competition, the Richard Smith Knockout Cup.
The final saw an all-First Division encounter between last year’s winners St Anthony’s, and New Longton Bowling Club.
And it was the in-form Catholic club who came out on top, winning five of the six frames to retain the trophy.
In the presentations which followed, Fulwood Victoria took all the honours in Division One, winning the league championship and the Divisional Handicap Cup.
In Division Two, St Edward’s finished worthy champions, thereby gaining promotion to Division One.
The Chairman’s Shield was won by the Wilbraham Club.
