Hide AdNeil was pleased with how supporters responded to his side’s display against Boro, the game ending 2-2 after 90 minutes before Tony Pulis’ side progressed 4-3 on penalties in front of a crowd of 5,095.
“I thought the fans were great,” the PNE boss said.
“We’re going through a sticky spell at the moment and it would have been quite easy for them to turn up and be quite down on me and the team.
“But I didn’t think they were. That was really pleasing and I think the players responded with trying to play as well as they could.
“I’m hoping that will be the same on Saturday because we really do need their support and you need it most when it’s become tough and difficult.
“I just want to show my appreciation and I’m sure the players feel the same.”
