The 27-year-old wrapped-up a move from Fulham on Monday teatime, joining for an undisclosed fee.

He will add a good range of passing to the North End midfield as Simon Grayson looks for a better supply line to his strikers.

PNE boss Grayson said: “He will give us something different. He has got a great left foot, he can see the pass, he’s got a great delivery and he can play either side or centrally.

“He’s a busy, bright player who is delighted to come here and we are delighted to have him with us.”

North End made their move for Pringle last week, agreeing a fee with Fulham before holding talks with him on Thursday.

The deal was finalised over the weekend with Pringle travelling to Preston on Monday afternoon to sign the deal.

He said: “I’m delighted, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind since last week and I’m delighted with the deal and I’m looking forward to it.

“It’s a massive club; a big club with lots of history and I’m just looking forward to getting started.”

Pringle, born in Newcastle, started his career with West Bromwich Albion as a trainee before moving into non-league football.

Derby County signed him from Ilkeston Town and after two years with the Rams, he joined Rotherham United.

He was a big success at Rotherham, helping them win promotion from League One via the play-offs in 2014 – the Millers beat North End in the semi-finals.

Last summer, Pringle joined Fulham and was a regular at Craven Cottage in the first-half of the season.

But after falling out of favour there, he had a loan spell with Ipswich Town.
