Mint result wanted by Renno at Kendal

Brig were hammered 5-0 by the Brewers last week, the postponement of Monday’s game at Skelmersdale denying them an immediate chance to bounce back.

So it will be at Parkside Road where they get the first chance to put things right.

Brig boss Neil Reynolds said: “It was a first for this team, a first for me as a manager since taking charge of the squad in December 2016.

“Losing 5-0 was a tough one to take and the only thing to do is bounce back.

“I saw it as a blip, a big one I grant you, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

“But it’s done now and our focus is on playing Kendal.

“That will be a tough game, Kendal have a couple of our former players in their squad.

“They will look at our last result and fancy their chances but it is up to us to get back to what we normally do.”

The trip to Cumbria is the first of a seven-game run-in for Reynolds’ men.

They are secure enough in the play-offs but still want to claim third spot if possible.

Said Reynolds: “We will chalk the games off one by one.

“We want to cement our place in the play-offs and get on a good run.

“We will try and win at Kendal and then do the same against Clitheroe and Colne.”

Reynolds is without Macauley Wilson for the next three matches, the defender having got a straight red card at Tadcaster for a foul.

An ankle injury restricted Regan Linney to a role on the bench last week.

He was an unused sub, as was Michael Potts who has a rib injury.
