Made late saves from Adomah and Bjarnason but questions will be asked about command of six-yard box for the goal.
Has made the right-back slot his own over the last two months and put in another strong display again.
Hit the bar early on when upfield for a corner. For someone relatively inexperienced, such an assured display at the back.
Abraham got on the wrong side of him for the goal but otherwise played his part in keeping the Villa attack mainly at arms length.
Good display at left-back, had Bolaise and later Adomah to contend with. Cleared his lines well and got forward when he could.
All-action display in the midfield holding role, tackled and passed well, kept Preston on the front foot.
Rode his luck with the referee for a spell. With the ball he was very good, setting up the goal and later Barkhuizens chance against the post.
Lively and full of running. Was a threat when the home team went over the top, hitting the post and having a header cleared off the line.
So much better than he was on Boxing Day. Playing off the striker rather than out wide suited him. Went close with a volley.
Played a role on the left and gave North End balance with a discplined display. A key cog in the works.
Got better as the game went on and is claiming the equaliser. Hopefully this can get him going on a scoring roll.
Replaced Clarke in the 85th minute to help hold off late Villa pressure.
An 89th minute sub for Burke. Got on the ball in attacking areas a few times.
Became PNEs youngest player in a league game at 16. Not afraid to take on his marker.
