Dewsbury Rams: Still plenty to work on says Morrison

Rams backed up a narrow victory over Swinton Lions by defeating Workington Town 38-16 in the Kingstone Press Championship two days ago.

They are one of four teams with a 100 per cent winning record and Morrison said: “If you drop any points at this time of the year it can cost you.

“We needed to make sure we won our first two and we have done.

“There’s improvement in us, but we have got the points on the board and that’s all that matters.”

Morrison admitted he wasn’t happy with the way Rams played in the opening 40 minutes against Workington.

“It ended up well,” he said. “But in the first half we played like we did last week.

“We were just going through the motions and trying to get the job done.

“I gave them a bit of a rocket at half-time and told them to stand up and do what they were supposed to be doing and they played really well.

“It was eight tries to three against a quality team with the same goals and aspirations as us, so it was a good result.”

Morrison said Rams, who travel to Oldham on Sunday, came through the game with some “bumps and bruises”, but no major new injury concerns.
