Maguire won his first senior international cap in Ireland 2-0 win over Moldova earlier in the month.

He suffered a tight hamstring in PNE's 2-2 draw at Fulham after the international break, the injury seeing him miss last Saturday's defeat to Wolves.

But the striker is expected back in the Preston squad for this weekend's Deepdale clash with Brentford.

Referencing Maguire at the press conference to announce the squad, Republic manager O'Neill: "I think he did exceptionally well. He's getting better, so it's good news all round."

Browne has been capped once by Ireland in the summer friendly against Mexico in New Jersey, while Horgan has won two caps.

The squad will be whittled down nearer to the international break.
